Why this site exists
Information about electric cars is fragmented between promotional spec sheets, a few hours of road testing and polarised debate. Buyers are left with unrealistic WLTP figures and charging promises rarely tested against real use.
Electric Car Salon fills that gap with in-depth, regularly updated guides that answer one question at a time: what range in winter, how much charging power is actually useful, which battery for which use, what a kilometre really costs. The site deliberately covers every brand and every type of electric car, from the European market to Chinese, Japanese, Korean and American manufacturers.
Who writes
Articles are signed and dated. When a guide is updated, the last revision date appears at the top of the page. A substantial correction is noted in the body of the article, never quietly erased.
Our editorial rules
- Independence. No manufacturer, charging network or dealer pays to appear on the site.
- Transparency. Ranges replace unverifiable figures, and official sources are cited whenever they exist.
- Usefulness. An article must enable a decision, not just inform. Every guide contains concrete criteria and rules of thumb.
- Currency. Technical and regulatory topics are reviewed at least once a year.
- Correction. A reported error is verified and corrected within five working days, with the change noted.
What we cover
Every type of electric car — city cars, sedans, SUVs, estates, MPVs, sports cars, pickups and vans — and the brands present in the main global markets. Priority topics: real-world range, charging, batteries, running costs, purchase incentives and the used market.
What we do not do
- We publish no sponsored comparisons or “sponsored” articles.
- We give no personalised legal or tax advice: incentive schemes must be checked on official sites.
- We do not rate cars from a few minutes of driving: the figures quoted come from homologation data, documented tests or institutional publications.
